If you haven't filed your taxes yet, it might interest you to know that individual tax returns are NOT due this Saturday; they are due MONDAY, April 17, because the 15th falls on a Saturday.
Moreover, if you live in ME, MD, MA, NH, NY, VT, or DC, your taxes aren't due until the 18th due to a holiday I have never heard of called Patriot's Day. Lucky you!
I myself mailed my major tax checks on the 5th, and all but 1 of the 4 checks cleared yesterday. Holy shit that's fast turnaround - it took the county weeks to deposit my measly check to them, but OR & the Fed are greedy. Too bad CA estimates an 8-week turnaround for my refund.
