The Arm Update. And others.

So...

I went to see the doctor. I saw a nurse practioner. She told me that my arm was not infected. I asked her to repeat herself, slowly, and in English this time. And she said, "Your...arm...is...not...infected." It's just very angry with me. You see, dear internet friends, I've been "treating" my arm in an attempt to make it heal faster. Apparently, my home remedies haven't been approved by the American Medical Association.

I was scrubbing it with soap, pouring hydrogen peroxide on it, and then taping it up with a band-aid so that my shirt or the desk would remain free from the ooze. These are not the recommended treatments for a wound of this nature.

So she told me to stop doing those things. Leave it alone (sort of). Keep putting the triple antibiotic ointment on it, and leave it uncovered as much as possible. She also gave me a prescription for an oral antibiotic if it doesn't start to get better in a couple of days after adopting the new "don't do that to it" treatment plan.

But seriously, y'all. It's still pretty disgusting looking.
