trick or Treat!

originally uploaded by wdalphin. Katie went trick-or-treating for the first time on Saturday, October 25th. We would have gone on Halloween itself, but Haverhill only allows you to trick-or-treat the Saturday before, from 7 to 9pm.
Katie went as a green dragon. Melissa bought the costume at Old Navy, where they have a wide selection of costumes for little kids. Katie didn't mind being dressed up and even wore the hood without complaint. She carried her little pumpkin busket eagerly, no idea what was going on.
The people whose houses we went to were very nice and friendly and most importantly patient with Katie, who was scared whenever they approached with their bowls of candy. Eventually, she got used to taking candy from the bowls, and even said "bye" twice afterward.
