Walls add to that homey feeling.

Well, it was a long three day weekend. I took a half day on friday to spend time putting up insulation... and spent quite a while doing that and some of the other things to get ready for the weekend. My parents, Laura, and her dad helped extensively to get things done. Laura's dad bricked up the hole between the house and the garage. Quite a bit of insulation was put up... but not all of it. I stopped at 8pm so we could hit Sam's club and pick up refreshments for Saturday's drywall install blitz.

On saturday my parents, Laura's parents, her sister's husband, my brother, my uncle, my cousin brian, and Nate and Jess all came over to help put up drywall. Unfortunately even with me getting two hours early we were not completely ready. Installing the rest of the insulation and vapor barrier took probably until eleven AM. We managed to get in some drywall before lunch. By the end of the day we had the ceiling up in the bathroom and most of the upper courses of drywall done... and the living room finished.

Today we pretty much finished up the majority of the kitchen... which is quite the pain since it is a ton of small pieces.  There is probably half of it to go... but we are well underway. Most of the insulation is down out of the garage, and into the dumpster. The moldy drywall from the bacement is out, along with the main basement room's carpet. Tomorrow we are going to take the day off.  I have a ton of screws to put in... but there is only so much physical work I can do back to back without making stupid decisions.

Hopefully some of you managed to have a relaxing weekend for me. Tomorrow I should probably take care of things I have been putting off like a haircut, shopping for food, and taking out the trash. Amazing how the little things can be put by the wayside while big projects are going on...
