Crisis Averted....

...at least for now.  I heard from my doc's office today.  They're still going to try to get the insurance company to pay for my current meds, and in the meantime they're going to give me samples.  That means a 40-mile round trip tomorrow in the car with no heat, but much better than nothing.  This is a big relief.  Even if the insurance continues to deny this particular medication, we can at least make a plan for a transition.

I have to say I partially blame my doctor's office for the problem.  I've only been going to this psychiatrist for about 14 months, and maybe my experience is unusual, but they seem to prescribe the newest drugs first - the ones that are NEVER on the insurance company's formulary.  Since Prozac worked for me for so many years, it does seem reasonable to try some of the older SSRI's before going straight to a new drug not available as a generic.

Other positives for the day:

The book I requested through Interlibrary Loan for my class on Sunday arrived today, so I don't have to look for a replacement.
My sinuses feel much better today.  I don't know if it will continue, but I'll take whatever good days I can get.
I talked to two friends on the phone today, so I feel all nice and validated and understood and listened to.  Happiness is a phone buddy!

interlibrary loan, sinuses, medication, insurance, re, psychiatrist, phone buddy
