I felt like sending this to Dr. Amazing Math Guy, who is probably my favorite professor from undergrad (especially since Dr. PoliSci was my coach and Dr. Ace was my PI). After sending it, I figured I'd send it out to the internets and see what you guys think ( Read more... )

I'm too out of it to "think" right now (I'm sick, sleep deprived, and up way earlier than my usual wake up time =P), but I love the line:

...you can take the plastic out of your wallet, but you cannot take the plastic out of the girl.

How appropriate! ;) And I had no idea you've been to 30 different countries! That's awesome! Which ones??

Canada, US, Mexico, Brasil, (Argentina & Uruguay . . . these don't count, but my parentals say it does), Germany, Denmark, Finland, Norway, Sweden, Estonia, Poland, Russia, Chzech Republic, Hungary, Austria, Slovakia, Greece, Turkey, England, France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Morocco, Egypt, Iran, Macau, Hong Kong, Thailand . . . . & countless islands, including the Dominican Republic, Jamaica, and the Bahamas.

Some of the countries count more than others as far as I'm concerned.

Haha, I second the 'plastic' quote! Bravo for accepting that, despite our derisive comments and lofty aims, Southern California will forever be a part of us. Case in point: apparently referring to a freeway as "the 405," rather than perhaps "I-405" is a California thing. I had no idea until I moved here. :P

I'm also fond of the "subversive and understated elegance." Well put!

That said... Southern California has music???
