[050] - [Voice]

[Mitsuhide sounds incredibly thoughtful today. There is good reason for that, which is revealed almost immediately.]I have now been in Vatheon for a year... or, rather, somewhat more than a year. The exact day of that anniversary passed by without me even realising it. I confess I was somewhat occupied with other matters, at the time. Better late ( Read more... )

[ There's a lot to be said regarding this particular post, Gracia thinks. It's been one whole year; one whole year of finding out the truth, of peace and quiet, of dreams and love...of heartbreak and realizations as well. She smiles as her father's voice soothes her. Ironically, a few days before this post it was that very voice that made Gracia cringe in fear. She was reprimanded heavily for her actions in the cavern, though it could have been much worse if she went alone. As for the lessons her father insisted on teaching her, she's slowly learning to appreciate them.

While the last note of his message made the gentle smile on her face disappear abruptly, Gracia decided to tackle something that's been bothering her severely for the past few months. First things first, though... ]

[ A laugh. ]

At least that certain member of your household did it for somebody she loves. That makes it worth the cleaning and fixing!

[Mitsuhide responds warmly to that. He has no clue yet, of course, about what is to come.]

It is true.

[And then he laughs, long and loud.]

But I think we should still avoid creating a situation where things need fixing again, don't you? Our poor oven might not be able to handle much more damage.

Yes, father. I've gotten better, at least! Because you're such a good teacher! [ She sounds amused; it's not like she really abused it to the point where it was going to explode... ]

[ As her laughter dies down and she's left to ponder on her original question, Gracia feels her neck and cheeks warm up. Was she really about to ask her father about something so...naughty? And private?

. . . .

Yes she was. It was unavoidable now. How could she pretend to ignore that curiosity of hers when at times during the night, she could clearly hear their, err, happiness reverberate within her own bedroom walls? Granted, it's only happened once or twice, but it was enough to ignite a multitude of questions. Or perhaps just one: Was she doing it wrong? She's never...

...She shakes her head, and takes a long, deep breath.

Who else could she ask regarding things like this but her father, after all? ]

Ahh, father? I need to ask you something.

[ The blush creeps up to her ears, and she feels it's become harder to say what she must, but she never could fight off her curiosity for long... ]

[ She pauses for a moment, trying to get the words out as gently as possible. ]

'The extent of your feelings' for Motochika, it reminded me of - of what me and my husband do. Oh! Did?

[ It started out quite awkward, but not that she's gotten to the heart of the matter... ]

Tell me, father, have I been doing it wrong? [ She looks at her hands, grasping her skirt. ] When I heard you and Motochika do it, it didn't sound anything at all like when we did it...

[His voice makes his embarassment clear, and he says in a voice so quiet Gracia may or may not hear it:]

We're going to have to start using the hut at night more often...

[After that he makes an effort at calming himself, because when he thinks on what she has just said... this could be really important, no matter how embarassed he feels. First, he starts off with an apology:]

I am sorry, Gracia. You should not have to hear that.

[There is a pause, because he has to ask an awkward question before he can know how to answer properly. When he speaks he sounds incredibly kind, if still embarassed as well.]

What do you mean, when you say it didn't 'sound' anything like it?

[ She smiles a bit, and replies with a tone of sincerity. ]

It's alright! It was wrong of me to eavesdrop on something so private. I'm the one who should apologize.

[ Gracia's tone loses its warmth and she sounds rather objective about the issue at hand when she speaks again. ]

You...sounded like you enjoyed it. Both you and Motochika! [ Another pause. ] I never felt that, not too much. What am I doing wrong, father?

You would hardly do it on purpose, my girl. No, the fault lies with us. We will have to avoid doing such things in the house too often, from now on.

[He grows quiet, then, for a prolonged period. There are many reasons why Gracia might not enjoy intimacy with her husband, and he cannot make an immediate judgment just yet, but he still frowns to himself behind the SFC.]

We do. [BLUSHING LIKE MAD HERE.] Because we love one another, and wish to make each other feel good. Physical intimacy can provide the most incredible feelings of pleasure when that is the case.

[...]

How does your husband treat you, when you are intimate?

[LOADED QUESTION HERE GRACIA, DO YOU RECOGNISE IT AS SUCH?]

Tell me when you want to be alone, silly father! I'll be happy to leave!

[ As her smile fades again, she ponders on his words and her own experiences in the bedroom. Tadaoki was...how could she put it? Stern? In control? She silently curses her lack of experience regarding so many things. Kinder words failed her at the moment because she just didn't know what exactly to tell him. What did he want to hear? ]

How does he treat me?

[ Another pregnant pause. ]

...He pulls at my hair, and he bites. [ She lowers her voice as well, the memory suddenly becoming extremely vivid. ] He doesn't let me do anything. He does it all, and he doesn't like it when I tell him something while he's doing it.

[ She bites her lip. ] Ahh, does it hurt for you too, father? That's why I was wondering if I was doing it wrong. You said it 'feels good', but I only feel pain. I don't understand...

I am not going to be sending you out of the house at night, my Gracia.

[When Mitsuhide speaks next, there is an obvious edge to his voice. His tone is quiet, but in that manner that suggests he is holding back a lot of anger. It's definitely not directed at Gracia. Oh no. It's directed at her husband.]

You are not doing it wrong. He is. Any man who treats his wife so is a fiend.

[Rights of the husband? It is true that a woman from their age and time is, usually, expected to do as her husband asks, but Mitsuhide has deep-set opinions on men who disrespect and mistreat their wives. He does not know anything about his daughter's husband beyond how he treats her in bed, but that? That is bad enough.]

It doesn't hurt for me. [Well, not most of the time, and when it does it's a brief thing before the pleasure hits... not describing that to her, though.] If he were not so selfish a lover you would feel pleasure, Gracia. You have the potential for it. Every man and woman does.

If that's what will make you happy, I wouldn't mind you know.

[ Gracia listens in silence as her father's words once again surprise her. His sentiments were so strong - fiend? She never once thought to call her husband such a thing. In an effort to calm the storm, Gracia speaks right after, in a reassuring manner. ]

He's kind when we're drinking tea together, or when he takes me walking out in the garden. [ She shakes her head. ] I don't know if I can ask him to change how he loves me. [ He listens to her most of the time, but when it comes to getting what he truly wants, she suddenly becomes rarely heard. ] But if we all have the potential for...pleasure, then teach me how to do that! Father, how is it supposed to be like? Like you and Motochika's?

[ Most people would be gravely embarrassed asking their parental figures such intimate questions, but for Gracia, the embarrassment has long faded away, replaced by that primal need to know answers. Perhaps she'll feel the same after her father tells her the truth regarding...this ( ... )

If Motochika hurt me in that way, Gracia, would you stand for it? Even if he treated me well otherwise?

[No matter what, Mitsuhide wants to make sure his daughter is prepared in every way for the day she returns home. In regards to finding the father that is there, hiding away by himself, and also in making sure she keeps herself happy. Healthy. Well.]

I will.... explain as best as I can when I hear your answer.

[And boy, is it ever going to be embarassing and awkward for your father, Gracia. 8'D This brief delay in answering it gives him time to think over what to say.]

[ Gracia is aghast at the mere thought of such a thing happening to her father. ]

That isn't the same! I...I wouldn't stand for it at all! You're father, you should be treated with as much gentleness as you treat everyone else.

[ She has yet to discover the irony of her words and her condition with her husband. ]

It is the same, Gracia. [His tone has become gentle again now, but that particular sentence is said very firmly as well.] You should be treated with the same kindness that you show towards other people. Don't ever forget that. Remember; you are my precious daughter, a treasure beyond price. Your pain is my own.

[That was by far the most important thing she needed to hear. With it said, however, it was now time to tackle her questions about pleasure.]

[Mitsuhide had tried hard to be a good, loving father since first meeting Gracia, but that didn't change the fact that certain things made him feel extremely unsteady. This was one such thing. It wasn't just that he was embarassed; he honestly had little idea of where to start and what things he needed to say, even after the short time he'd had to think about it.]

Well, then...

[...]I should tell you first that every person will find pleasure in different things. I can give you general advice, my girl, and there are certain things that most enjoy, but only you can determine ( ... )
