[rubs the back of his head innocently] Ohhh, I might have a bit of experience in that field... Well, not exactly kidnapped and studied, no, I don't make a habit of that, but I'm rather...used to aliens myself.

Hey, that's more than I've got. What do you think about this, Doctor?

Besides the fact that they took their dear sweet time replying to any of our messages? [why no, he's not slightly annoyed.] I think they really don't need to bring one of us up there for examination. They should have plenty of instruments on their ship telling them what they need to know.

Still, I'm very curious to meet this new commander.

If they were really worried about contaminating the ship, they definitely wouldn't bring someone on board, right? They'd come down here with their own equipment.

Does that mean you're volunteering?

They could have a containment unit all set and they'll beam one of us right into it, but they could easily come down themselves to run the tests too. They should have protective suits against such things since they're obviously aware of contamination. But I can't help thinking this is simply an excuse to question one of us about the ship's crashing into this planet, as well as why our bioscans weren't apparent while we were on the ship itself.

Oh yes! [grins eagerly.]

Yeah, you're probably right.

Well, you have my vote. I haven't met everyone here yet, but you seem like the kind of guy for the job. I'm more of a hired muscle, plus I don't remember being on the ship while it was flying.

No, I don't remember seeing you on the ship before or even hearing you through the communications network.

Which is why I'm probably not the right guy for the job.

Hmm, no, I agree. I'm more interested to know why the ship is still pulling people in even though it's been without power for the past couple of weeks now.

A device on the ship without power, that's pulling people away from Earth. . .

Really impressive people, too. It would take a monster to snag someone who just got here.

Well, it got me, and I'm a very difficult person to snatch away so easily.

I'll take your word for it.

But you're really more interested in that right now? You could be up against who knows what.

Nah, I'm not so worried about that, to tell you the truth. The commander reminds me a bit of our dearly departed captain for some reason. [minus the madness, he hopes]

You think so? I never met the guy.

I never had the pleasure of meeting him face to face [while the man was alive, but he decides to keep that bit to himself.] Just through recordings like the one from Commander Orion.
