Rice cooker darkens building
Yes, if not the entire building, at least the the 8 flats sharing this stairwell were plunged into sudden darkness today, just as the exciting second half of the very dramatic handball match between Russia and Sweden was about to commence. Happily for most people, their power was quickly restored. in fact the only one to lose power for more than a half hour was the person who had inadvertantly caused the fault...which was traced to a ricecooker short circuiting and causing a massive drain of current.
Damn. I really wanted to see the match....and the rice cooker had happily cooked my meal, it was only like an hour later that the lights went...the cooker was off and all...
in the event, the match was a draw as sweden, as they tend to do, lost a 6 goal lead, and scored the tying goal with 6 seconds left...
