His story had come to a conclusion. Everything he’d ever wanted had been granted to him, one way or another, and, at last, he sat in position he’d never truly believed he’d be granted, even in his wildest dreams.
Emperor Mollari. He was a bitter man, all traces of youthful vigour and red-blooded patriotism that had driven him relentlessly here, gone. He walked in silence towards his doom, his fate sealed years ago with a choice, the repercussions of which he had not considered at the time.
He’d wanted to become the Emperor because he wanted to be loved, remembered, and above all to be happy.
He was none of those things, save, perhaps, remembered, and all that he considered worth loving was gone, except her.
The golden age of the Centauri Empire was over. But Centauri Prime lived on, and he would never abandon her as long as he had strength left to fight.
He felt the keeper climb slowly up his leg and latch itself onto his shoulder, driving its tendrils into his skin and gaining control of his body.
He no longer cared about what happened to him - but enough of the old Londo Mollari remained to sacrifice himself for her.
