I guess I should post since I never update this thing.
Chris and I went to California a few weeks ago. It was really awesome. San Diego was maybe the most beautiful place we visited. We went to Balboa Park and it was just so gorgeous. We also visited the zoo there of course which was fun. We stayed in L.A. with my step sister for a few nights. Her cat is fricken insane. It like attacked my foot when I was trying to walk by. She also hisses a lot. Our first night we went to Hollywood to visit the Chinese Theater. That night also consisted of shopping for a bathing suit at Victoria's Secret and my first trip to a Hooters. Anyway, our second day, we left LA and went to Ventura Beach and then on to Santa Barbara. There we stayed with Chris's aunt who is a fortune teller. :D It was amusing. Actually, she calls herself a "medium" or "healer." It was honestly pretty cool. She did healings on both of us. Goooood times. Santa Barbara was really pretty but kind of overwhelming. Like, everyone was super rich. The homeless people didn't look that bad...it was odd.
After that, we started our trip up to San Francisco. We chose to take the windey coastal route. It was really scary. Like we drove around all these mountains with steep cliffs. It was absolutely beautiful though. Like, I'm not sure I'd do it again any time soon but it was really amazing and worth seeing. We stopped at this one place with hundreds of elephant seals on the beach. And there was a cute squirrel there who ate a cracker jack out of my hand. SO cute!
We got a GPS system with the car which was really really cool. Like, we could just drive around aimlessly and explore different places and then click a couple buttons and be headed home. I highly recommend it.
Great story for our first night in the city:
We stayed at a hotel in South San Francisco. We got there at like 1 in the morning and they gave us our room keys. So we walk to the room and I put the key in the slot and open the door. I look inside to see the room looks kind of messed up and OH, there's a PERSON getting up out of the bed. So this old guy like got up and walked over to the door. I didn't even know what to say. He just like mumbled something and shut it. Can you say AWKWARD?
Yeah, so they gave us a different room.
San Francisco was really great. The weather the first day was awesome. We went to a cartoon museum and a modern museum of art. The city has a kind of eclectic feel to it. There's lots of young, fun looking people. It wasn't as cold as NYC. People seemed friendly. And the public transportation there is really awesome. The second day we did some shopping and went to a place called the Exploratorium which was this neat science experiment museum thing. It was cool.
Our last day in California we went to this place called the Huntington which is huge and has tons of different kinds of gardens. That night we went out for Mexican food with my step sister and her man.
It was an awesome trip.
After getting back to Maine I finished up at my job in Biddeford and moved up to Waterville. It was kind of bitter sweet. I'm glad to be out of Biddeford but I really liked my coworkers and boss. We're going to save money up here for the next 6 months. Chris got hired at T-Mobile and in 6 months he can transfer to the San Francisco location. So, I'm currently looking for work up here in Waterville. I have an interview tomorrow at Mount Saint Joseph's for 2 part time positions. I'll have benefits through Chris's job so it doesn't really matter what I do, but hopefully I'll find something I'll like.
Right now I'm living with my sister and her friend Martha.
And I dyed my hair blond. Pictures soon.
