lay our bodies by the fire

I cannot figure out what to do with my room.

When I moved away from home after high school, so we're talking 2004, I left my room in a semi-shabby state. During the next two or so years I would be home during the short breaks and summers that come with college, but I never really bothered to condense or get rid of things.

2007 rolls around and I decide to live at home and commute to school. That didn't last long and soon I'm pretty much at home full time and still there's no sense to be had from my room.

From the end of summer 2007 to May 2008 I lived at home full-time. Instead of cleaning any of the mess I just let everything pile up on top of each other.

Then I moved to New York. When I returned from New York it was only a week before I was taking to the road for the road trip.

And now I'm back here. Sitting in a room that hasn't been reckoned with for an eternity. Not only is there still way too much stuff from my late adolescence and high school years, but time has made a fool of me once again by adding college stuff and stuff from all the different periods of my life after college.

It had been slowly coming along and I threw away several large garbage bags worth of stuff and STILL it seems hopeless.

These are the thoughts that creep into my head at 4 in the morning.
