Ah, I Love Random Japanese in American Media
From the latest episode of the CW's Supernatural:
Sam: You can read Japanese?
Bobby: 君の生まれる前からずっとだよ (kimi no umareru mae kara zutto da yo) = Since before you were born.
Jim's accent wasn't bad, but he stumbled a bit on "umateru" and the emphases on "zutto" seemed forced. But otherwise, a stirring performance from a man who obviously doesn't know a lick of Japanese. ;P
Yay for being able to understand! I rock.
In other news, I am still extremely not well. I caught something terrible that's been alternating me between chills and a fever every hour since I woke up this morning. I decided to call in for the first time in six months--it is that bad.
Well, I got my wish: I escaped the Devil Class of Death at the expense of my own health. And, yeah, I take it back. I would've rather taught a 40 minute lesson.
This is proof that God has a sense of humor. Either that, or he really enjoys tragic irony.
