Endoscopy

I just got back from seeing the ENT specialist. I got an endoscopy up my nose to see inside my throat (wooo fun!) After that, the doctor proscribed me some medicine that he pretty much flat out told me I don't really need.

It seems that I have the beginnings of tonsillitis. The doctor, who spoke passable English, said it's "a little bit tonsillitis," but said I should monitor my condition and come back if I start feeling any pain. Right now all I have is slight inflammation, which could just be allergies. So they say.

For the past couple of weeks, I've felt a lump in the upper part of my throat, around the location of my epiglottis (duh--my tonsils). I have absolutely no pain, which is why I waited so long to see a doctor. Hey, if it doesn't hurt, your body's not trying to tell you anything, right? But when I became unable to yawn, I got a little spooked. I would go to yawn, but the yawn would die in my throat at its climax. Kind of creepy and more than a little frustrating.

So, to ease my mind, I went to the doctor. Although he didn't really do anything for me besides make the inside of my nostrils numb, I feel better. At least I know it's not cancer or something terrible like that. Yes, my hypochondriacal tendencies took over there for a few hours. I didn't sleep very well last night. ;P

I feel all better now. I'm back at work and gearing up for elementary school in a couple hours. I'm teaching 3rd and 4th years numbers. We're also going to attempt the Hokey Pokey. I'm supposed to teach them "an English song" and I hope this qualifies. Please, dear God, let them like the Hokey Pokey. I think the 3rd years are going to love it (they are practically still 2nd years after all) but the 4th years... we'll have to see.

Then tonight I'm driving about 30 minuets to Ino to drop off Rosa's camping stuff I borrowed. Then Ill come home, do dishes, tidy, and watch Medium and House. Yay for boring nights!
