Despite the very crappy morning, I actually had a really good day.
It all started when I rushed out of the apartment terribly late, only to find that my car not even awake. Well, dead, really. I called my supervisor who told me she'd take care of it, but I needed to ride my bike to school. And with my bike rusted solid after a month of disuse, I walked the half-hour to work.
When I got to work, I went into the break room and--very suddenly--was sobbing. I guess the situation was more stressul then I realized. However, it wasn't long before I was noticed and soon I had my own little support group of people handing me tissues and giving me snacks. Kusunose-sensei, the English teacher for the 2nd years, really cheered me up.
I had three classes at Sakawa Jr High today. The kids are gearing up for exam week and the English listening portion is tomorrow, so today was review with the 2nd years. All three classes of them. They're pretty good kids. Well, they're friendly with me at least. And, dear God, do they ever love it when I speak Tosa-ben. I hope the fun of me saying "nani shiyuu ga" never wears off.
My supervisor stopped by the school in the later half of the day to say that she'd replaced the battery in my car and everything looked fine. I'm relieved, but I have a feeling that this is not the end of my car troubles. It's never the battery.
Anyway, I drove the car home without any problems. I just hope that it starts tomorrow without any problems.
After dinner (basil chicken pasta) an ALT named Zoe dropped by. What a wonderful girl. She lives in Nidodagawa (I think that's the name) with Monica and she showed me a lot about Kochi and Sakawa. She drew me a map and everything. She's also a part of the writing group and she'll drive me to the meeting on the 1st. Huzzah!
And now I'm off to bed. *yawwwwn*
boo,
sakawa,
