(no subject)
I had a quite nice but rather tiring weekend. My sister, her husband and 2 kids came up to visit. We hadn't seen each other since February so it was really nice. My nephews are 4 and 11 months, so every time I see them, they are so different! My daughter was enamored of the baby and would just follow him around. Baby was fascinated by the dog as well, so we had a constant train of dog, baby, girl. My son and her older one were getting along really well this time. They are about 5 months apart and really hit it off well.
They all came on Saturday and made it to the house just in time for a nice downpour, so we really didn't do much. Sunday, the guys took the older kids to mini-golf while Jenn and I went over to Naperville and walked around, shopped, and had lunch (Noodles and Co) then some chocolate at a chocolatier. Monday Jenn and I took the kids to the park while the guys really folded then we all met at the Field Museum. We really enjoyed the museum except that I didn't realize the play lab stops admitting people at 3 even though the museum itself doesn't stop until 4. So, we got to the playlab at 3:02 and were not allowed in. Kids were not happy. Mine had told hers all about the dress up, fossil digging, and other neat activities in there and it was one of the main reasons we went all the way down there in the first place. Sigh. But, the all did enjoy the real fossils and things. Then we went out to dinner, came home, and got kids in bed. The older 3 were camped out in sleeping bags in my boy's room.
They left early this morning. I am really happy they were able to come. It was a pretty short visit, but I'll take what I can get.
