I love geology. It's one of my hobbies, along with history and documentaries so when this article came out:

I wasn't really surprised. Mainly because the empirical data has always pointed to the impossibility of this claim. Especially considering just how large the planet is and what it would take to make any kind of drastic change like many scientists have been claiming for years. Not to mention all the proof against it, but, of course it's nice when the media get off their lazy bums and actually do some reporting for a change. Whether you believe in it or not, this information should be raising some eyebrows across the board.
