Hmm.

Just got back from a little errand-running and shopping, and had a random thought (well, among many, but this one is worthy of sharing).

Do you ever think supermarket checkers wonder about some of the stuff that people buy? I mean, maybe not for the huge cartful that's obviously some family's groceries for the week, but the random, two- or three-item purchases that occasionally come by. (They probably come by less and less thanks to the computerized checkout lanes, but still.)

You have to wonder sometimes. I was at Kroger and checked out with 4 2-liter bottles of lemonade (on sale, sale ends tomorrow) and a stick of deodorant (was out). Odd combo, right? I mean, sure, it's not like I was leaving Wal-Mart with a car battery, a feather duster, a roll of Saran-Wrap and some Wesson Oil, but like I said, I wonder if the checker ever thinks "why the fuck are these people buying this?"

I probably would. Then again, my mind works in weird, strange, and endless entertaining ways like that.
