I haven't been very good about staying in touch with people lately so I thought I would take a few minutes before I crash to say "hi!" I'm sorry I have been a bad friend lately. Here is a summary of what has been consuming my life for those of you who are interested:
Working . . . (I'm "on-call" for another week and a half, which means my phone rings a lot at all hours. Luckily I haven't had to go in for anything yet, but it sucks to be woken up in the middle of the night to help out with something and then not be able to go back to sleep.)
Spending time with Mom (She came to visit for a little over a week and it was really nice having her here. I was sad to say good bye this morning. We did a lot of "house stuff," redecorated the living room (which I am very excited about), helped Q reorganize her room (not an easy task), saw the Titanic exhibit at the Denver Nature and Science Museum, played the Wii and had a little BBQ on Saturday night for our families and a few friends.
. . . working . . .
Trying to find time to sleep
more working . . .
I've been working a lot. My new position is really stressing me out. I have to work a lot of hours, make a lot of decisions and organize a lot of projects. Being on call sucks but my "official" promotion should be going through any day now and hopefully I will feel better once I get a bigger paycheck. I've also had to do several trainings and presentations, which I can't stand, but I am getting a little more comfortable with it. Last week I attended a presentation of a "strategic plan" that I worked on to the Mayor! Luckily, I only had to say my name, my department and nothing else. I didn't faint, which is good. :)
Cory has been extremely busy with his internship so we haven't seen much of each other. Q is in Wyoming for the week visiting her brother and sister and their dad and grandma. So basically things have been pretty busy and crazy. I am really looking forward to the weekend. I have nothing scheduled and plan to catch up on the dishes and laundry then spend the rest of the weekend sleeping, watching movies and playing video games. I can't wait!
