Sometimes you need to shift your game from macro to micro - What the title says, starring a couple rebel leaders. Even with compatible management styles, it's good to be multi-focused. This is the story gifted to me this year. I wish I could truly explain what a great world the author has built, exploring Raynor's Raiders and specifically how Matt Horner fits into that world, but no amount of praise would be enough!

You're gone from here, soon you will disappear - Everyone's trying to get away from Riverdale, but something brings Reggie back. An interesting look back at how the lives of Archie and friends ultimately turned out, with a pleasantly surprising twist.
Being Erica
For the Good of the Patient - "Amanda. The one he gave it all up for. And she’s worth it. Living his life is worth it. He just didn’t know how much it was going to hurt having to leave Erica behind." An amazingly heartfelt look at the Erica-Dr. Tom relationship and what the future might have brought them.
Black Swan
variations - The music of the mind wants choreography for the flesh it lightens. An intriguing look at how events following the film could possibly proceed, with a slight twist on Swan Lake.
Community
beating at the fourth wall - Due to budget constraints and poor registration numbers, Greendale is going on hiatus for the rest of the year. The study group is not taking this injustice lying down. Wonderfully meta along with being completely spot-on with character voices. And did I mention funny?
The Sinister Scheme of Sneezy Batman - “Oh look, a cat,” Abed said as though he was commenting on the weather and not an earth-shattering disaster. This story is funny, adorable and pitch-perfect with its characterization of Annie, Abed and Troy.
22 Short Fics About Abed Nadir - Inspired by "32 Short Films About Glenn Gould" and the portraits of Despair in Sandman: Endless Nights. Twenty two views of Abed's life from childhood memories to his current course load. Written for Yuletide 2011. This story is able to perfectly encapsulate the character of Abed.
What Normal People Do - Annie has put a lot of time and effort into being a normal person. Troy and Abed, not so much. If you like OT3 - especially Abed/Annie/Troy - this is the perfect story for you.

but everything happens for reasons she will never understand - No matter how hard you try to run away from your past, it always seems to catch up with you. Helga G. Pataki learns this firsthand when she’s called back to Hillwood for her father’s funeral after being gone for four years. A very believable future for Helga and Arnold.
How I Met Your Mother
Blue Rodeo Bird - "You reenacted the bird flying into the ceiling fan with your chicken fingers," Barney said. "Best non-porn puppet play I've seen in years." Littered with references from the show as well as great interactions from all of the characters, even in rarer combinations.
Mulan
Writing With Chopsticks - When the Emperor recruits Mulan to help China in the aftermath of the Hun attack, Mulan finds that more people than not want to box her into a woman's "honorable" role. She's having none of it. The perfect continuation post-film with everyone completely in-character.
New Girl
The Sun's In My Heart - Jess loses someone and in the end, when it counts, the guys are there for her. A fic that gives us great backstory on Jess as well as strengthens our understanding of her relationships with the guys and Cece.
Once Upon A Time
Snow and Ash - How the friendship of Snow White and Cinderella began, and most importantly, how they discover the two of them have much in common after all. A great tale where we find out that Snow White and Cinderella have a deeper history than previously realized.
well I was the one who showed you the sky - Knowing intellectually that you were someone else in a past life is a completely different thing from believing it, feeling it. Mary Margaret Blanchard knows this all too well. Character study of Mary Margaret that builds to an end where everything comes to a head.
The Many Lies of Walter Elias Disney - Emma Swan has never liked Disney movies. The lies start with 'happily ever after' and just keep building from there. An incredible character study of Emma that gives us great backstory as well as implications about her future.

It All Comes Down to Friday - Leslie gets an offer she can't refuse -- or can she? Extremely heart-warming future fic including Leslie and Ben's precocious daughter.
Ben Wyatt, Christmas Disaster - Better a cube butt, Ben thought, than a Christmas disaster. Fluffy fantastic fic with a good helping of all the Parks and Rec characters we know and love.
