I miss thunderstorms... and the things that happened with them in high school. They're probably the only good thing about the AV. Thanks for the memories. And now for a poem:
We will fuck this night
Into oblivion
We will hide behind
The guise of logic and reason
With a whole world blind
By the lies of equality
We will not shy
From a caustic reality
They tell us that we are
A blossoming future
But we are by far
More like cigarette embers
Self-destructive corrosive contradictions
Vegans burning ants and catching puppies on fire
We will not be complacent
to a gender-biased society
Standing adjacent
To a mixed-race piety
'Cause they founded this city
On a monument of dicks and ribs
And they thought they could hypnotize us as kids
But we are mightier
In all our disgusting glory
Than suit-ties that wanna keep us sick, sad and horny
So throw down the gun of t-shirt activism
Cast off the garb of patriotism
And all preconceived bullshit
Like paternalistic humanism
'Cause we've forgotten that similarities are just opposing contradictions
No,
I will not apologize for vulgar grandiloquence
When the world raped us into poverty,
Allowed a class of pomp and arrogance
Hanged hope with rope and DDT
Outlawed love and eloquence
Gave us a book we had to believe
Taught us hate and avarice
Cast us off to sea
And deemed it our deliverance.
From the day we're born
We're forced to conform with what is “right”
But one day, no more
That war, is why we fight.
