Some people are just not made to sleep at night. This is problematic, since the rest of the world insists that the work day is some variation on 9-5.
Green Day July 21st at the not-Spectrum! Yes, I know what it's called, but it will always be the not-Spectrum to me. Woo! I wish I knew more about music so I could talk about their new album with any kind of authority. 21st Century Breakdown is like a coda for American Idiot. "Desperate, but not hopeless" is the theme, whereas American Idiot is about killing off your rebellious anger and assimilating into white collar bullshit. Quality is subjective, but I like American Idiot better -- I don't have the ear for music and tend to pay attention to the lyrics. Breakdown has evidence of a coherent story but fuck if I could give you details.
I have so much love for Green Day. They were the first band whose CD I bought with my own money in 1994. American Idiot helped me swallow my rage at Clusterfuck '04 and again in '08. I feel fucking old. This is ridiculous.
