What is the difference?

Why was Facebook so successful I queried the webiverse. Some of the top answers were that it contained "hot triggers" which induced people to interact with its content, because it is "real" and because it is easy on the eyes. For what ever reason, it has totally beaten down all the other social websites and taken on total world domination.

Bah. Never being one to jump on a bandwagon, I stayed out of it. As a conspiracy theorist, I consider it to be complicit with governments. Nothing like a little easily accessible dossier for everyone on the planet.

Ah well, maybe it is a good thing, what with how many people there are these days.

It was just an experiment for me to be here. "Journalling" is not my thing. It has been interesting to meet people in this virtual reality that I otherwise would not have met, especially as I live in a remote rural area.

A lot of my entries are private so this venue may serve as a sort of diary, to document events and thoughts which would only be of interest to me. It seems a little more durable than paper, except it could also all be gone in a flash just as in a house fire.

I can hardly believe I have been here ten years. Time to do a revision maybe.
