facebook and twitter standardized the internet
Now you have to have facebook for a lot of things, or too bad, you are not welcome. Personally I don't like many sites sharing a password. I have always used a different one everywhere I went, and a variety of usernames too, being the conspiracy theorist that I am. My main game website requires facebook for communication purposes, even though I have been giving them money for years.
It has all changed so much. At least the writers still write, and have lengthy detailed specialized blogs of special interests.
I waited all year for comet ISON only to be disappointed. Maybe there will be another in my lifetime.
It never has been much of an urge to document my life, it is unremarkable.
