The sun gleamed off the corners of his thin sunglasses as he felt the cold whip of his wet, untied shoelaces. Off in the distance the sound of a rollng train pursued through the thick, damp air. Besides the singing of the birds in the nearby trees, all the noises within stone's throw were the lapping of his laces and the loose gravel crackling beneath the rubber soles of his shoes.
He was walking to Ted's. It was around noon, he could barely tell by the sun floating in the ocean of blue. Gaining scars as it rolled, the rock the young boy was kicking skidded off into the greens off the side of the dirt road. Discouraged and tired, the boy sat on a stump near the Shepard's Clearing and Mr. Harrison's picket fence.
my Add-on:
He was tired, and hot. He really needed a drink, but knew he couldn't ask anyone around here. He decided maybe he should go sit somewhere in the shade. It felt nice being out of the hot sun's rays. He liked the view of the calm cool Ocean. It was relaxing. After a while he decided to continue his walk to Ted's. Along his way, he saw Billy, one of his friends. "where are you going?" asked Billy "Ted's" replied the boy. The Ocean had something intruiging about it. He didn't exactly know what was so intruiging about it, so he decided to go to the pier.
