Stolen from bonemeadow

Take the first sentence of the first entry of each month this year. Thus, you have your year in review.

January:  Meme created by Kit and Lily - Twelve Reasons Why I'm Weird.  :-D

February:  Best picture of the month, totally deserving of the title 'A Face Only A Mother Could Love'

March:  The Thursday before this past one, I saw another one of the House Theatre's plays.

April:  My Grams died sometime last night.

May:  If y'all haven't heard about it yet already, the White House Correspondents Dinner was this past weekend.

June:  Answer me one question...Why am I on your friends list? (meme)

July:  Music Makes Life Better: ...and these songs are proof.

August:  For Quiet Days/Quiet Nights:  Three songs I wanted to share with y'all.

September:  First off, I want to wish a very, very happy twenty-first birthday to the lovely Kit!

October:  I already left you a message on the book of face (har), but I of course have to come and put up an entry here.  (Lisa's birthday)

November:  This entry is completely and utterly random.

December:  Light a virtual candle here.

And that's my year in review!  :)

I think I'm putting up my Christmas tree tonight.  :)  I have a fake one that Joyce gave me a few years ago, but this'll be the first time I've ever actually used it.  I have plenty of space for it out here in my living room, and my parents are giving me lights that I can put on it, though now that I think about it, I think I have one string of lights that I can use.  We'll see.  :)  I'll take pictures and post them once it is up.

All my Christmas shopping is done for my family.  And I never even had to set foot in a store, mwahahahaha.  Everything I was giving as ideas I was able to find on Amazon or other such online stores.  Anybody who knows me knows how much I really don't care for shopping - and I hate shopping even more during the holiday season.  I do still have three friends I need to find something for, but there's a little store here in Hyde Park that I'm going to go to and look for things there for them, so I'm not worried about that excursion.  I just hate malls.  :-P

Oriana is supposed to be coming over tomorrow evening and spending the night here, and I'm really looking forward to it.  :)  I haven't seen her since she got back from Argentina and Peru, and she hasn't seen my new place yet, so it'll be fun.  We're going to probably rent a movie or two, and I'm planning to cook dinner.  ^_^  I like playing hostess.

I (shamefully, LOL) lurk over at the HITZRUS boards, but there was actually a good topic that was started the other day - what songs people would like to see Hanson cover.  I replied to it, and ended up thinking of some things I hadn't thought about before, so I thought I'd share them here.  Some of these I think I may have mentioned here before, but still.  :)

I would love to hear them cover some James Taylor songs - I think their harmonies would suit his songs well, and it'd be interesting to see how they'd choose to weave them in. 'Something in the Way She Moves', in particular, would sound fabulous with just the three of them singing and maybe one guitar.

They could do a great cover of the Beatles' 'You've Got To Hide Your Love Away', too. And that would make for an awesome sing-along during a concert.

Bill Withers' 'Lean On Me' would be incredible.

John Mellencamp's 'Cherry Bomb' and 'Pink Houses'

Live's 'I Alone'

I think they could actually do a good job with Paul McCartney's 'Fine Line', too.

Pretty much anything from Simon & Garfunkel.

The Police's 'Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic'

Ray LaMontagne's 'Trouble', if only because I would kill to hear Taylor singing the line, "I've been saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaved by a woman" Him or Isaac. Either one would be incredibly hot.

Smashing Pumpkins '1979' - if they did it in Chicago, they could maybe even get Billy Corgan to sit in on the song with them, since he's a fan.

And for fun, a la their cover of 'Dirrty', I'd die laughing if they covered 'SexyBack'.  XD

What are some songs you'd want to hear them cover?  :)

Mmm...dinner time for me, now.  Much love to you all!
