crime beat+crazy customers+no diagnosis
our parking lot got targeted AGAIN last night, 3 cars got their windows broken and stuff stolen. luckily not me this time. there is one poor guy in my building who has gotten the short end of the stick - this is the third time he's had his car vandalized in the parking lot.
there is a new hip hop shop where the previous hip hop candy shop was. i think it's just called the hip hop shop. it seems to be open more than the hip hop candy shop was so maybe it's legit. the guy who owned the hip hop candy shop finally got sent to jail on federal charges. yesterday afternoon when i got home there were 5 cop cars in front of the shop. it looked like they were searching a beat up limo that was parked there. who knows.
the other weekend an older lady came into the music department and said to my co-worker:
"did you hear about obama?"
co-worker: "no, what?"
"he's going to fire all the barnes and noble employees! he said that!"
she then went to tell my co-worker that obama had a party where he invited 7 republicans and 5 democrats and they all got drunk! can you believe it? it sounds like she wanted to tell a bad political joke but she was just crazy. we also had a woman call several times but she would only talk to our "gentleman" employees. dr. music was also in last week. he told me "i don't know if you remember me, but they call me dr. music." he then invited me to a valentine's dance he was dj-ing. he offered to bring me a business card the next time he was up. he said "i've got a system that will, as ac/dc says, shake your foundation!" we were all trying not to crack up.
my duluth ear nose and throat doc has officially passed me off to the mayo clinic. he wants me to see their ENT and neurological departments. so, down to mayo at the end of this week. i'm not expecting a diagnosis for at least a couple of trips. i'm in pain, still can't hear, but i'm hopeful something can be found and fixed.
