i've refrained from blogging about my medical trials because i figured everyone's got them, some get the bad end of the stick, but generally it sounds like whining. i didn't blog about the cyst that exploded on my head during christmas time because it was gross. the doc who lacerated it stuck a ribbon in it and called me a teletubby. then i had to go to work with a ribbon sticking out of my head. but anyway, that was just an isolated incident.
it is true i never got my hearing back after surgery. i was to go in this week and get my eardrum tested but something else took precidence in my ear nose and throat world. a strange new lump that keeps getting bigger. i'm thinking, oh, another cyst or blocked saliva gland or something. of course it's nothing that easy. my ENT thinks it could be 3 different things, all terrifying. but i've been down that road before. so, i have the MRI monday, try not to worry and wait for the test results. then if it's a really serious diagnosis i go continue my care at the mayo clinic.
i'm trying not to say "OH GOD WHEN WILL IT END???" or "OH GOD I HAVE CANCER!" i'm just dealing with the pain and keeping myself occupied until a diagnosis comes down the pike.
work has been real quiet except for the lawnmower man and the occasional reappearance of the guy who stuck cd box sets down his pants until we caught him.
i got back to the recording studio last week. it commences, albeit slowly, due to my medical situation.
this afternoon i will go to the movies which will erase all my worries and fears for a couple of hours.
