Question about Myka & Houdini's wallet (Pilot eps) SPOILERS

May 02, 2010 18:21

No clicky the LJ cut if you (still) haven't seen the Pilot eps. I fear you will be spoiled if you do. There are probably going to be spoilers in the responses as well so you've been warned.

Riddle me this WH13 fans )

ep: 1x01/1x02 - pilot

Funny, I saw the tweet and knew it was yours...

It didn't occur to me that her hallucinations post SUV accident had anything to do with the wallet, if that answers your question. I suppose the wallet could have lingering effects, but her reaction to a head injury seems pretty consistent with my experiences (I have had several; things make more sense now, yes?). So, I would be more inclined to say that whilst the wallet might have impacted the situation, it did not feel that way to me.

What, is my Myka love showing again? Damn, I'm working on that. ;)

See that's my thinking to. The wallet might have impacted on it, but not caused it completely otherwise it wouldn't (at least to me) explain why she dreamt of Dickenson first. I would think if the wallet still had that much influence on her, keeping in mind by this point Artie had already dropped it in the purple goo, it would have made her dream of Sam first.

Anyone else? I'm curious to know and won't be offended (and I hope no one is offended by my posing this question) if you don't agree with me. I'm just curious to know how others interpreted that scene. :D

I figured it was her mind doing what it needed to wake her up. The wallet had been purple goo'd at that point(I can't remember what it's actually called at the moment, but you know what I mean), but I suppose it could've had lingering effects. It could have been a combination of her mind and the wallet, but I think it was really her minds doing.

Exactly. When they got in the accident, Artie had already gotten the wallet from Leena and doused it in the purple goo (they all call it goo, but the "proper term" is neutralizer, but goo is so much easier and more fun to say, imho) by the time this all happened.

btw, for anyone wondering..64 days until S2 premiere. :D See it's not that far off now. :D yes I know...it's still a looooong way off for some, but it's only 64 days as opposed to 112 or more. ;)

I know they call it goo(and so do I), but I was trying to think of the word and all I was coming up with was synthesizer and I was like um...that's not it. But thank you, now it won't bug me about what it's really called just because I was brain farting lol.

That seems so far away right now XD

Sorry if I sounded all "know it ally" wasn't my intent.
Brain farts are annoying aren't they?

I know it seems far away, but just look at it this way...it's a lot closer NOW than it was in January. :D

The wallet didn't even enter my mind with the dream. I think it was just her mind doing what it had to to wake her up.

I hear ya. I naturally figured it was her brain working it out that she needed to wake up and used two people she trusted the most to help her wake up.

Considering that the wallet had long since been neutralized I figured the effects had already worn off before the accident. I know there was the one phone call while they were in Iowa where she heard Sam, but I figured after that, the effects had worn off since we didn't see/hear him again until she was unconscious.
