An Odd Week.

Jan 18, 2007 10:13

So, this has been a fairly odd week so far. Mainly cause I've been bored out of my skull for seemingly no reason. I've had interesting things to do, and interesting things to watch; yet I remain completely uninterested.

Two nights ago, while trying to sleep; I found that I was tossing and turning a lot because I was... Bored.

Too Bored to sleep.

What the hell is up with that?

I've finished three books in the last five days (given, they were short ones).

I cannot wait till I get paid tomorrow so I can afford to go out and DO something.

Right about now, you're wishing I had something more interesting to post. Well, so do I.

The highlight of the week, so far, has been the two hour phone conversation with the "girl from Baltimore". (If you don't know, don't ask; I'm not telling :o)

She is now off to Hong Kong, then back for four days; then Singapore. Somewhere in there, she's celebrating her birthday by climbing over some wonderful ruins.

I'm just a tad jealous.

Later today, I'll be driving to State College for my MW Committee's wrap up party. It should be entertaining, to say the least; and hopefully all goes well and smoothly. Prep has already begun for next year, and I have high hopes of growing this MW into more of an economic powerhouse. The market there can sustain it, we just need to get more people involved.

'Course this means I get to comp' out on Friday and relax. (Read desperately try to not be bored by doing some essential shopping).

Saturday I may do a bit of traveling with Josh and Beth. I'm not sure yet, as it will depend on some funds and whether I feel like being overly social on Saturday or if I want to curl up into a ball and sleep and luxuriate in the fact that I don't have a normally scheduled game this weekend.

Not much else going on. Though I did discover a new webcomic I'm becoming addicted to. (No, I'm not sharing yet). But until I do, you Firefly/Serenity fans out there should enjoy THIS.

Till then I'll leave you with bits of

NEWS

Domestic Spying Program to be reviewed by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court, as required by pre-existing law. Bush has decided that, because of this, he won't renew the authorization for the program when it comes up.... Yes, because he's being forced to comply with a law stating he may send retro-active warrants to a court... a court which has denied ONE warrant in its history, he'll stop the domestic wire-tapping program. That sounds an awful lot like he doesn't want the court to know who he has been spying on. 'Cause that ain't suspicious....

More Heat=Less Oxygen. An interesting article on the subtler effects of global warming that post people don't consider or hear about. I have, recently, discovered that you simply can't explain the potential bad things behind global warming to someone who is not scientifically literate. They just don't see the impact of the consequences. Those that are scientifically literate usually don't need to be convinced that its a Bad Thing, and we should address it. 'Course my solution to this is to have
