So..

I found some interesting things. Tell me what you make of these. NUMBER ONE. So I was sitting in Orgrimmar waiting for my queue to pop when a catchy little e-mote caught my eye, sadly I did not screen shot it. Something about not being like the whores in Silvermoon, so I was like O'rly?! and pulled up the profile. THIS IS WHAT I GOT:

Hmm, ngl. I am curious as to who the Lightbreaker is, since I kind of have "close personal ties" with Apophan and his cult (read: I'm pretty sure he accidentally took our cable remote with him to class today :|).

Okay, he GTalked me as I was typing this and explained who it was. And also that the remote is under the couch cushions. :|

Half-trolls are one of the halfbreed concepts that I'm less skeptical of, if only because trolls have been interacting with many of the races in WoW for hundreds, if not thousands of years. That said, I don't buy that people would be like "Oh hey, nice tusks, man." This is something so few people understand about halfbreeds, that the WoW universe frowns pretty heavily on half-this/half-that people. Doubly and triply so if your character is halvsies with two races that hate each other. Your parents would likely be viewed as traitors to their respective races and you would likely be seen as a freak of nature ( ... )

I swear I'll run by on my half-orc and HUG you.

That'll serve you right.

Out of the lot, the biggest annoyance is that description filled with the history, and then the entire blank space glaring at me from the history tab.

The problem is, most trolls are cannibals and extremely distrustful of outsiders. The Darkspear are among the few exceptions, and they have only entered the larger world recently. Thus, any half-trolls that aren't babies or little kids would have had to have this happen:

1. Non-troll boinks a troll, despite the races typically being violently hostile
2. Miraculously, conception happens, despite there being no precedent for it happening
3. Pregnancy is allowed to take its course
4. Half troll is born and not immediately eaten/mercy-killed
5. Half troll is allowed to grow up, despite half of its heritage being loathed by the race it's living with

Very, very unlikely!

1) They know all about her and why she's there, and yet it's okay for her to run loose. OF COURSE.

2) Someone's a CLAMP fan. I don't care how awesome you think Tsubasa: Reservoir Chronicles is; the names don't fit in the WoWverse, kk?

3) I lost it at "Anti-socialism".

I love CLAMP, too. :> Just not to the extent that I'd try to cram it into a universe where it doesn't belong, no matter how pretty it might look.

Half sin'dorei? Blood elves have only existed for a few years. Looks like someone didn't look up their timeline!

Then again, Japacheese names. I don't think trying to fit into the setting is high on that guy's priorities.

*cleans glasses* Does the race on that last one say... panda?

Also, hanging out with people who do not speak your native language as well as you do will not influence you to start speaking a fractured version of your own native language. Will you pronounce things a little differently? Maybe. Will you start using "me" instead of "I"? I hope not.

Not necessarily. When you hang out with a group of people long enough, you try to fit in, and that includes picking up any idioms your new group of acquaintances use.

Sometimes it even happens unconsciously. Or maybe I'm just some kind of dialect sponge... I tried to explain it once, so to shamelessly quote myself:

People listening to me think I was born in the Federal Land where I live now, but I've only moved here when I had finished school and started studying. I was actually born in a Federal Land which is known for its heavy accent, but I have retained exactly nothing of it. My "accent", if I have one, is mostly standard/High German, with some slight colloquialisms and pronunciations I picked up where I live now, and some others I "absorbed" from my husband, who is from another Federal Land.

It's not the same as whole languages, yep, but the dialect of my husband's home place is quite distinctive, and it definitely comes through when I'm speaking - although I've never lived there and he's the only one here who speaks like that.

Is the second one a refrence to a book/movie/whatever?

Because it is surprisingly lore accurate. Unless there's something non-wow im missing I don't see anything wrong with it.

The twin? Other than the name and age it's... meh. Not great but not terrible.

Just.

You're a TODDLER! I can't take you seriously if you're a toddler!

Oh, and I just noticed the half elf mother bit. *siiiiiiiiiiiiiiigh*

I don't read a lot of manga anymore, but even I can see a bad attempt at being Otaku in WoW.

And and their father took them with him when he followed Kael!? Who takes INFANTS to war with them!? Aside from the Nac Mac Feegle, I mean.
