I've been increasingly testy lately, and my fellow roleplayers on Moon Guard are not helping.
I'll be straightforwardly ragey about this: I hate the institution of slavery. I hate it with a passion. What I hate more is people who go out of their way to roleplay a slave--not to explore the question of whether involuntary servitude is a bad thing,

That quotation, for one. "Happiness is not freedom, but a sense of belonging"? That sounds more like she's trying for true slavery, there. I'm not seeing how that's fitting into the fetish. Same with the title. "Former House-slave and Loyal Servant"? I think she may be trying to work the fetish into actual slavery, and is in so doing coming off as both Sueish and really, really insensitive.
Then there's the whole recurring issue of "Please, I don't mind your kink, but there are a million places to play it out and Azeroth is not one of them." I don't care WHAT you like to do, but if it doesn't make sense in our setting - and this doesn't - it doesn't belong there. AZEROTH IS NOT THE 21ST CENTURY FIRST WORLD, FOLKS. People are less tolerant of what they would consider to be "sexual deviance".
People, slavery does exist in WoW. We have instances of both humans and orcs taking slaves. HOWEVER, we are talking slavery in the ancient sense. We're not talking plantation slavery, and we're *definitely* not talking any kind of domination kink "slavery". Nor would anybody be taking slaves from among their allies; that's incredibly stupid diplomacy. And given what we know about slavery on Azeroth, nobody would WANT to be a slave.
Slavery's a tough subject, and it's very easy to ignore the seriousness of it. If you can't roleplay it in a way that produces meaningful thought and actually confronts the issue, DON'T ROLEPLAY IT. Same goes for rape.

ESPECIALLY a human taking a Kaldorei slave, given how 'new' they are (by their standards) to the Alliance and how generally xenophobic they tend to be.
That would just be a diplomatic nightmare.

Considering if Varian was involved or found out? Yeah, I'd say a diplomatic nightmare would sum it up very nicely.
