The long-awaited going-home meeting happened today. I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know, but it seems I have to turn in my health insurance card to city hall before I leave. So...what happens if I don't? They keep charging me for insurance? Disappointed about not being able to keep my foreigner card though. =(
Applying/being approved to graduate was kind of a mistake on my end. I'm now in a mindset that could be potentially destructive to my academics - IF THEY STILL MATTERED, that is. I only go to class now for the attendance stamp in most cases. I hate Tuesday and Wednesday classes and don't mind Monday or Thursday, but when it comes to homework or assignments the only thing I take relatively seriously is my translation class on Thursdays (which is cancelled this week). I'm actually pretty excited to do the project for that class, but don't really care about making the 3000-character-minimum for the commentary on my translation. I now show up to a lot of my classes late and do little more than play sudoku or play around on my phone in the classes I can get away with this in, although we were watching My Dog Skip in my American Culture class and I was pretty much glued to the screen. I haven't seen that movie since it came out, so I didn't remember a lot of it and had to hide the fact that I was on the verge of tears by the end of it. Managed to not let a single one spill out!
Pet movies (TT_______TT)
Last week I ducked out of Korean early after taking the short quiz at the very beginning of 4th period. Korean takes up two time slots in a row, from 3rd to 4th, but I managed to get the stamps for both periods despite only being there for 10 minutes of the second half :D I don't really know what I'm going to do about this class because it is pretty interactive but I don't have a lick of motivation to even go.
The next thing I have to look forward to is getting the monthly stipend on Friday with a short field trip in the afternoon, and the day after that is Disneyland with my friends Yayoi and Jessica! I'm so excited, I've still only been to DisneySea so I'm excited to see what Land is like. Being an Ariel fangirl, I know Sea's better (they have a whole area devoted to her; I had a fangirlgasm), but I'm hoping they still have some Ariel merchandise. I'm not planning on spending a lot on souvenirs anyway though, so maybe it's a good thing :D
I took a picture of my latest nail art behind the cut. Shaina taught me you can use your webcam directly on Facebook to post stuff so I tested it out. XD
What I did was a really light pink (almost the color of my nails themselves) for two layers, and then I painted a big stripe of a dark magenta-ish along the top (two layers of that). From there I took black nail polish, mine of which has a smaller brush than normal, and used it to draw a border along the darker magenta. After that I attempted to paint the lace/doily-type half-circles along the border and dots inbetween. I felt it still kind of looked boring though so I put a layer of pink glitter over the dark magenta and managed to not get any on the black border. Tadaaa~ \:D/ I would have loved to put some rhinestones on it but I STILL don't own any.
My Monday was pretty awesome though - I had a really good Skype date with my man, so that always gets my day to an amazing start. <3 Then I drew out my last 1000yen from the bank (I have 925yen left, but I can only do withdrawals in the 1000s...fuck that leftover 75yen) and went grocery shopping, when I discovered the supermarket here is selling caramel cornflakes again!!! GET'S!!!!!
