Elisabeth reactions / review

Jun 16, 2007 02:25

I saw Elisabeth this past Monday (the 11th). I'm sure five or ten other people have already seen and posted about it, but I really want to share my thoughts too.

KIMU!LUCHENI!!! <3 <3 <3!

Mizu really has been working on her voice... <3

...And Hamako's voice is just made of awesome.

I started to cry at "Papa Mitai ni", and again at "Ai to Shi no Rondo", and again at the "Papa Mitai ni" reprise. After that I got over the OMG I'M SEEING ELISABETH LIVE tears of joy. ^^;;

Black Angels are LOVE. (Be prepared to see this several times in my notes. XDD;;)

YUMIKO!FRANZ IS LOVE!!!

More LOVE for Hamako too. <3

At the beginning of "Keikaku Doori" when Hamako!Sophie was bullying Helene (can't remember the girl's name off the top of my head but she was cute! <3), Kimu and Tonami were doing something funny over by the cart with the luggage. Like Tonami was trying to get at the suitcases and Kimu was standing in front of them trying to shoo her away as if she was hiding something. I don't know, I'm not good at explaining but it made me giggle. XD

Yumiko singing "Arashi mo Kowakunai" = SO MUCH LOVE!!!

Mizu climbing out of the orchestra pit = hot. Ehehe. ^^

Mizu's echoing laugh = very cool.

"Saigo no Dance" = so much hotness. (MORE BLACK ANGEL LOVE!)

I will say for a third time that Hamako's voice is awesome, but sometimes I felt like her Sophie wasn't all it could be. Maybe I just saw her on an off day. T__T;;

Tonami's "Watashi Dake ni" = pretty darn good. (The smoke everywhere is really fun too. XD;;)

MORE KIMU LOVE!

Hiromi = SO CUTE!! LOVE for the revolutionaries!! (Seriously, Hiromi radiated cuteness all the way to the second tier. And there was this one line where her voice got really deep and it was just ADORABLE.)

Tonami took off her cape to show off the flag-dress in this really quick move that somehow made it overly dramatic. XD;;

"Taikutsu Shinogi" = yaayyy little cafe singers whose names I don't know! Yay for the cafe scene in general and all the people doing things in the background! Yay for Hiromi & co.!

YAY MIZU IN GLOVES!!! *Julie's fondness for gloves, particularly Death-in-gloves, unsurprisingly resurfaces*

"Elisabeth" (Franz pleading at the door) = more love. Yumiko's voice rocks.

Mizu is sexy. I really liked her reaction at being rejected. She made this half-lunge back at Tonami like why-I-could-just-take-you-right-now-but-oh-I-must-restrain-myself. And then she went out the door and angsted. Yes. Love.

"Milch" = mostly performed out on the ginkyou, which was different. And cool! More cafe people / revolutionaries / Kimu / Mizu love!

Tonami in the white dress = gave me chills. Guh.

Mizu climbing out of the orchestra pit again = <3 (is it weird to find that hot? XDD;;)

Elisabeeeeeeeeeth, yay, and that's the act break!

*cue intermission, during which Julie has something of a shopping spree*

...And back. And now I must reiterate KIMU LOVE in big bold letters, because her ad-libbing was one of the best things ever. Because when she was getting ready with the camera her flash went off early and she had to go back and do it again and it was just SO FUNNY and whatever she does / says on the DVD will probably not be as funny. That's the magic of a live show. <3

Whoever the little "Eian" soloist was, she was good. <3 I love all the baby solos in Elisabeth.

"Watashi ga Odoru Toki" = homg good.

Baby Rudolf (Saeki Chihaya) = cute!! The blocking was different for this version of "Mama, Doko ni Iru no?", and Mizu was very... touchy-feely. ^^;;; Mizu!Death, you perv. ;-P

Hamako love again!!

"Madame Wolf's Collection" = I didn't even know where to look. @___@ Kimu feeling up Madeline versus Yumiko being accosted by whores... XDD Seriously, it was too much for my eyes to handle.

(Madame Wolf herself was pretty good too. Haruka Midori, was it? Anyway, Kimu groping her leg = more hotness.)

"Saigo no Chance" = ... ... ...

OH. MY. GOD. SO. FREAKING. HOT. Mizu's up-on-the-couch striptease was possibly even better than Saeko's (or Morie's). Then again, Saeko had The Boots... But nonetheless. HOTNESS.

Oh, and when she said "Shineba ii!" it echoed. <3 Very cool.

Hospital scene = Windisch was good. (Amase Izuru, wasn't it? *much too lazy to dig out program / go on the Wiki and check people's names*) I found myself liking Tonami's "Old Elisabeth". But why did they take out the exchange of fans? I liked the fan-trading thing. :-(

The entire Rudolf segment was just *___________* . Kaname was pretty good. Also, Mizu was wearing gloves again. <3 And I need to throw in more Black Angel love. And Mizu almost-kissing Kaname was omghot. And after the failed coup, Hiromi!Elmer limping off with a wounded leg really got to me. ^^;;

Kimu hung around in the Rudolf bit more than I expected. I wish the DVD would have a Kimu angle, but I know that's too much to hope for. XDD;;

Teh Kiss of Death = seriously so HOT.

"Shi wa nigeba de wa nai!" Yay angsty Mizu. <3

"Atarashii Wien Miyagemono" or whatever that song is called = ickle babies!! Throwing fits over mugs!! So, so cute!!!

"Saigo no Shougen" = sooooo coooooollll, I love you Yumikoooooo~

Kimu's crazy laugh! "Un grande amore"! <3

And then it's the end with the white costumes and the kissing and the duet-ing and the smoke EVERYWHERE, whee!!!

*finale time YAYE*

Yumiko's "Ai to Shi no Rondo" = <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Rockettes = so cute!!!

Mizu in white dancing with musumeyaku to that march-y version of "Watashi ga Odoru Toki" = very cool!!

Otokoyaku dance to "Yami ga Hirogaru" = I think I died. Seriously. It was just... it was so... I mean... there are no words I haven't already said. Otokoyaku dance. Yami ga Hirogaru. Live. GUH.

Mizu & Tonami's "Saigo no" tango (ey look, I made a pun! ;-D) = everything you could hope for. Really, it was just brilliant.

Etoile = Haruka Midori, whose name I will now remember since she sang so well (and, I believe I said above, played Madame Wolf). <3

Parade = my hands hurt afterward from clapping so hard. Oh, sparkly disco ball. Oh, sparkly peacock feathers.

OH, ELISABETH.

General thoughts:

Seeing a show live (instead of having DVD-vision) gives such a different view of the stage! Like how certain scenery is angled, and what people are doing in the background (did I mention enough BLACK ANGEL LOVE??? Their dances RULE), etc.

Also, there were some little changes in this version, like differences in the levels of politeness that only someone who has the entire Elisabeth script memorized would notice. ^^;;;

General thoughts on 'siennes:

Yumiko, I think, has surpassed Juri-pyon and Gaichi as my second-favorite Franz.

Kimu has taken her place alongside Wataru and Kiriyan as my favorite Lucheni. (What, I can't have three favorites? :-P)

Mizu will rank somewhere around my third-favorite Death, occupying that nebulous area of second-third-fourth-favorite with Osa and Saeko because I can never decide who I like better. ^^;;

Tonami, I believe, I can put at a solid third for favorite Elisabeth, after O-Hana and Ayaka. She had her moments, but it's not as if she could ever beat out O-Hana to me.

Everyone else, I don't feel like ranking. I should mention though, since I forgot to stick it in before, that Miho Keiko's Liechtenstein rocked.

...I think that's everything.

Things unrelated to seeing Elisabeth:

My computer situation is still unstable, and I don't have time to post the irimachi pictures I took. At some point I will share them, though. (I got two pictures of Ginger. Two. Sorry, princesslucia, I hate to brag, but I mean... I have to brag a little. ;-)

If you want to hear the excitement and angst (okay, mostly angst) that's going on with my teaching job, I post it all on my regular journal lokaichan. If you'd like to send me support, email me to my phone at wao_julie_wao@docomo.ne.jp

...I should have been asleep long before now... T___T;;
