(no subject)
Belated happy new year, LJ! I think one of my new year resolutions is going to have to be update more here, because I really do hate tumblr so much 75% of the time (and the other 25% is when I'm talking to people on tumblr who are LJ friends anyway, so, yknow.) I know LJ keeps fucking things around and turning everything to shit, but the past week I've barely even been able to get on LJ and I missed it a lot more than I'd expected.
Also, get a new job, move out of home, continue the amount of reading and writing I got done last year.
(I think I wrote about 80,000 words of fic last year! Which is definitely the most I have written any year ever, although the bulk of that came from just four fics (and 50% of it came from just one fic) so I could probably still stand to be a bit more productive.
Also, I read 66 books last year. I KNOW. BECAUSE I COUNTED THEM ALL. It was surprisingly fun, as far as list-keeping goes, so I'm going to continue that this year too. AND PERHAPS... FOREVER?)

So here is where I am at fannishly, at the dawn of 2013:
- I love writing Avengers fic, but I'm bad at keeping up with comics (and the comic fandom is pretty dead rn) and the MCU fandom is just too big and noisy and full of... enthusiastic young tumblr people for me, so currently I'm only really reading fic in
- the Star Trek reboot. Kirk/Spock. Because I am SANE. LIZ.
- and also, really did not see this one coming, the Hobbit. WINNER OF 2012'S HELP WHAT AM I DOING AWARD. My childhood is ruined. Dwarves are unexpectedly hot sometimes. Thorin has ruined everything. (I ship Thorin/Bilbo for the love of god why why help me why. (I just reread the Hobbit and I had emotions. I FELT THINGS FOR THE BOOK THAT I HAVE NEVER FELT BEFORE.))
- and if Arrow fandom and Ollie/Digg actually like, existed, I WOULD BE ALL OVER THAT. Okay, that's another new year's resolution: write some Ollie/Digg.
- also theoret and I started watching Revolution a few weeks ago because all our shows were on hiatus and we wanted to see Colin Ford? and we have actually got really into it?? because there are sympathetic bad guys and morally questionable bad guys and lots of attractive people and although the concept is inherently very silly it has become really engaging now we've suspended our disbelief for it??? FUCKING KRIPKE. RUINING MY LIFE.
