Destroying your car can be quite the rollercoaster ride. One day, it seems like the damage is mostly cosmetic; the next, they tell you that it is wrecked. One day, they are going to scrap the entire vehicle; the next, they are going to fix it for just shy of ten thousand dollars. One day, it's going to be repaired by the end of the month; the next, you are into month two of rental car fees and worry.
It wouldn't be so bad if I weren't going on vacation in early April, meaning my (rental) car will be parked in the BWI long-term lot. That seven dollar a day parking fee will bring my daily car expenditure up to thirty-six bucks.
Not counting gas, of course. Then again, I won't even be driving it.
