[Gat's still in human form at the moment, and he's walking down a sidewalk on an impromptu errand for Dakki when he spots this guy wandering around the town in his pajamas. He approaches the guy, holding up a hand in greeting.]

Howdy, stranger.

[Gat might have thought nothing of this back on the GUARDIANS Colony-given many of his eccentric coworkers back in the Gurhal system-but here, it's different.]

This here place is called Mayfield, an' you've been kidnapped by th' folks runnin' this town. Most people here are prisoners, too. Like me.

Folks say it's set in some place called America an' that th' local year is 1950. But I ain't familiar with th' name or th' calendar they're usin' here.

Since it's a prison, there ain't an obvious way outta here. There's a lot about th' town I'm still tryin' to figure out, myself, but I'm thinkin' it's some kinda VR space.
