Springville Teens Suspended for Skunk Oil Prank
LAST UPDATE: 3/10/2006 10:38:53 PM
Four Springville High School students were suspended for a senior prank gone wrong.
Last month, the students sprayed skunk oil inside the school. According to police, the elaborate plan was the brainchild of ringleader Derek Wright. Police say Wright and three other teens entered the school through the ceiling on February 22nd.
Wright says they sprayed the skunk oil on carpets, walls, floors and vents. The school board dealt the teens with a ninety day suspension.
Wright says he's sorry for what happened. "We had no intent to harm anyone or do any damage or anything. We thought maybe the smell would last a couple of days but it ended up lasting longer than that."
The district is helping the teens to graduate, but they won't be able to walk in the commencement ceremony.
Criminal charges against the teens could also be filed.
