"And the trees were fists, shaking themselves at the sky."
The clouds roll across the ocean of pale blue, smirking in mockery of the poor, decrepit souls, stuck here on this Earth. They smile for they know that once those souls were green and lush and the very life of a place so wonderful, that it seemed as if the laughter of children was always in the air.
Velvet sounds falling on ears made of silk, is how I feel just thinking about it. The sounds of today, a gray world fallen to the dark hands of mediocrity, are in my ears instead. The news is on the TV, the rickety old fan kicking on every now and again. An occasional siren and a few screams from out the window.
Where did life go? Who remembers being 3 feet tall and bigger than the world? Who remembers Super Hero Day? Who remembers making friends because it was fun?
To Us All,
Take flight. Against the winds of routine, take flight. Against the forests of niceties, take flight. Against the he, she, them, and they that ever try to push you down or suppress you in any way, TAKE FLIGHT!
