Well Camporee went great, and at the same time completely drained all my energy and I can't figure out why. My dad lost his voice yelling at the crowd and soon recruited me as his translator. Sure enough, I begin to lose my voice as well. But all that aside, the weekend was great. Staff could go to bed pretty much whenever we wanted, we didnt have to cook, and I got some Mexican Lasagna from 8787 during the camp inspections.
This week looks like it'll be ok. All we're doing in English is watching 'For Whom The Bell Tolls', and Algebra is looking relatively easy. There's a company-wide morning drill to prepare for Military Inspection. I get to miss school for that so that's cool.
I've been playing a lot of Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past. Fantastic game. I finally got the boomerang and a new map. I miss the good ol' days when all I had to worry about was how to beat the game I was playing and what was for lunch. I'm currently engaged in a search for an original Nintendo Entertainment System. There are planty on eBay, but few that come with the games I want (if any games). So uh...drop me a line if you know where I can get one...for cheap.
Some problems came up at our last Venture Crew meeting. Basically, conflicts in personal schedules have come up. We inadvertently planned our next shakedown for the same weekend as Prom (Who the f cares?) and the Swim Team Banquet. I just hope that the discrepancies can be worked up and we can have a happy-go-lucky time gettin ready for Philmont.
I payed for Navy League today, so I'll be meeting the Chief of Naval Operations (Admiral Vern Clark) fo' sho'. That'll be extra fun cuz all the 'right people' are going.
I been thinkin a lot about Sol Mayer. This is kinda weird, but every once in a while, a smell or feeling will instantly remind me of the fun, the people, and the jokes I enjoyed so much. It's kinda a downer to know I won't be there until this summer...if I get hired...
I believe it is time to have a sandwich and watch the Simpsons now...ta ta
