Brief Update
Flew out to San Francisco Sunday night and had my final interview at UCSF Monday morning. Not much to say - I thought it went very well, but unfortunately I won't know for another week. I tried my best. Then, I wandered around Market St. for a bit, read a book, made phone calls.
Then, I went over to Oakland to see this girl Sarah I've been talking to for a while. I'd be sharing a 2 bedroom with her in northern Oakland. The place was really nice, the area was nice - just 2 blocks away there's a street with shops, restaurants, etc. and it's walking distance to the BART. Plus it's $625/month, which is a FANTASTIC price for the area. I could probably find a shittier room for 500, but this apt. was nice, and I'd only be sharing it with Sarah, who seems nice and cool, and drove me all around the better parts of Oakland and Berkeley, showing me where she does this and that, etc. I gave her a postdated security deposit and she's stressed that I won't know if I'm moving for another week, but I told her that's all I can do right now.
I am so exhausted from this trip, just anxieties and fears piling up. I was grateful to pull my exhausted ass back into Sausalito Monday night and eat greasy Thai food with Linda. My parents don't understand why this is such a big scary deal for me. I hate being fucking alone in this. This is probably THE most difficult period of my life. But, it can only get better, right?
