February the 14, 15, and 16: Grrr, Crunchyrooolllll!

Feb 16, 2009 17:04

Alright, I'm all for watching anime legally, but man sometimes it's a pain in the butt. Take today for example; since I do not have a crunchyroll (CR) subscription I have to wait a week to see episodes, which means that Mondays are my Natsume Yujincho day. This is fine, but I have issues with CR itself. When I first loaded the video to watch it started playing, but then I started hearing the audio of an English commerical! This was annoying so I stopped, refreshed, tried again, and got the video playing no problem. Then Ted came out and I asked exactly what happened last night (a little after 11 my mom came into my room and told me she was taking Ted to the emergency room, he seemed to be having an alergeic reaction to a chocolate and I thought I heard them come back in around 1:30 in the morning but I was out by then). So he explained what happened, I went back to my video, it froze. And, between the ad starting late (and I've had this problem on other players as well such as the ANN video player) and the video simply not loading, I had to refresh like six times to get it to play and, since on CR the video only loads when it's actually playing (not paused) I had to sit through six minutes of people talking in Japanese to get back to where I had been.
All in all, a good episode, but a highly annoying CR. And I don't understand why they don't sub the OP and ED as well, in fact, I have absolutely no idea what the lyrics are for those songs and it's starting to annoy me a little since I like them and, therefore, want to know what I'm listening to.
Sigh, well, that has been the majority of my drama for the past few days, well, except for another converstaion with my mom which along the lines of a gentle rebuke of how I need to stop threatening people and be more mature. Ex~cuse me, I'm sorry I'm around high schoolers 24/7 who act and react differently than adults, I can't help but be immature, it's hard not to inadvertently imitate what I see around me all the time. And I don't give commands, honest, I talk so much that I don't expect people to listen, and most of the time ya'll blow up at me it's because I just vented a long held rant.

So yeah, happy 18th birthday to me, and I still look like I'm 16. I think it's my lack of make-up, but I am way too tired in the morning to do make up, I think once I get to college I'll care more about my appearance due to a lack of dress code and the fact that I'll actually be awake for dressing. It would be nice anyway... so, onto my party (of sorts). I really, REALLY, need to stop planning to see movies with my friends since I have the most horrible luck with them. XD I had been planning to see Inkheart, checked the theater, checked the time, but then suddenly, come Saturday, it wasn't playing AN-E-WARE in my city! So my mom and I quickly checked the paper, decided on Confessions of a Shopaholic instead (although this got changed to Paul Blart: Mall Cop with my friends, they tried to convince me to see Coraline but no way in crazy heck, I don't like horror and it's ma birthday so I get to be a pain about it). Due to the change in movie (and time and place) we found ourselves at the nearby outdoor mall with an hour to spare and ran around a little. We stopped into Gamestop (where shader and I found these AWESOME DS styluses that looked like lightshabers) and I ducked into Barnes & Nobel to grab Gakuen Alice volume 6 (the release date got booted up almost an entire month). But after that we had about 10 minutes to get to the theater, way on the other side of the mall, and we ran . Well, kinda, phantom and Leigh couldn't run (except when crossing the roads, god those things are murther) and we managed to get to the theater in time, find a poster for Dragon Ball Evolution and smuggle in the box of Thin Mints shader had bought from the Girl Scouts outside of the grocery store we had hit up for Starbucks earlier (I didn't drink).
So the movie was good at parts (they stretched out the romance parts way to long, and even then the movie barely hit the hour and a half mark) and then we trotted (actually ran, one of our college friends was somewhere in the mall) back to my house.
At my house we did a bit of guitar hero (my brother had been complaining about it having a problem but shader thinks she fixed it, something about the lag), Leigh had some dramu with her mom (it sounds like a lack of communication, plus Leigh isn't taking some of her medicine for no real reason that shader and I could figure out), showed them Top Gear, ate fondu, and opened my presents. Usually I post pictures of my presents, but since most of my presents this time were gift cards (no joke, I got $50 between 3 Boarders gift cards and a $25 one for Barnes and Noble), some checks (also to be spent on books), a really think and warm pullover from my mom, and I got the first Nasuciaa manga from Ted (the second one is coming but it's been stuck in a Georgian post office for the past five days, o_O). So a nice haul and I'm trying to plan out what to spend my gift cards on to make the most of them. Coupons are your friends...
And I gotta go, I'll try to post a little more tomorrow, signing off!
