January 12th: Another day...

Jan 12, 2008 19:21

Well today was boring. Probably a good thing after my hormones started raging last night and yeah, that was not fun. Especially when SOMETHING started cittering/screaming for it's life last night around 11:30. That was freaky since it sounded like a serial animal killer about a few feet away form my bathroom, freaky stuff. Just like how that skeleton of the girl who was born with four arms and four legs is freaky (that one scared the crap out of me, that ones just unatural...).
Anyway, yesterday I said that I explain why the ending of Anne Freaks sucked. Wikipedia has a basic synopsis of the series, but they make it sound like the ending was decent.
The story ends with Anne and Yuri going off with guns to kill someone (still not sure who). No moral, no point, too many deaths, and too many weak people following a pyscho. Shader summed it up saying this about the ending "It just sucked."
So yeah, I would say don't waste your time on the series, but one good thing did come of it on Friday. I was reading the third volume at the end of english class when we were done discussing for the day. My teacher asked what I was reading and I just flipped up the cover. He then asked if I had read a comic book called Persepolis. I said that I had (and I had even liked them since they were memoirs that were comic books, pretty good) and he said that it was now a movie and that it looked exactly like the book. Today I spent A LOT of time on the library's computers trying to find their copy of the book (I stink at spelling and this is a weird word to spell so I failed) and when I got home, we found our copy of The Week had come in and they had a review of the movie in there! It does look like the book, and after seeing trailers for it they look identical. A bit freaky considering it's all in black and white animation (and considering what it is about) but I do want to see it.

So, my list of movies to see this momth:
In theaters: National Teasure II, Juno, Persepolis.
Rented: Paprika (our movie store has it now!) and Hairspray.
Really varied I know, and when Feburary rolls around I'm going to see The Spiderwick Chronicles and Inkheart (re-reading that one now) and then I wait until May to see Prince Caspian! Yes, the movie theater makes so much off of us, even more since I always go with someone.

And to finish up I just (finally!) read the most recent chapter of Tsubasa and am trying to figure out what is going on. Or just WTH is up with Fei Wang Reed's plans (and CLAMP has less than a quater of the story to explain it too!). Oh and I'm reading Kobato now, I like the story but there seems to be a lot of enigma's in it so far (and Newtype USA is folding and that's where it's being serilized in this US! That could be bad for whoever was going to put it in to volumes).

Signing off!
