June the 5th and 6th: Not very busy...

but tiresome none the less. Just been running errands, trying to figure out what the weather is doing, sewing (finished this little decorative pillow/paperweight thing, I thought it turned out alright all things considered but my mom was much less enthusiastic than she is about the things I think turned out crappy) and doing reading. Let's see, reading the volumes of The Key to the Kingdom that I picked up at the con (need the last volume!), Gateway by Sharon Shin (same person who did The Safe-Keeper's Secret, I liked this one because I knew it was going to be a romance from the get go, no trying to hide it, and the alternate China setting was beautifully described) and Star Climber by Kenneth Oppel (sequel to Airborn and Skybreaker, didn't like it as much as the previous two, the plot had to really work to compete with the character interaction and I'm really getting tired of Kate here, she was fine in the first book, a bit insufferable in the second, and has gone into crazy-scientist-who-doesn't-get-the-world territory, the photographer was a pretty cool lady though). Trying to get back into the swing of reading and I found a pile of unused book suggestion forms for the public library which I believe I shall make use of.
Meant to get more sewing down actually but ended up doing a cleaning/reorganizing spree of my bookshelves instead. Not surprising, I do that every 3 months or so and really need to do it with how full they are. Plan to donate most of my old beanie babies soon and I took some books out to go in the family's general non-fiction section (confused the heck out of Ted since he couldn't figure out where one or two good writing books came from, wanted to keep those in the house but not in my room since I don't use them often) and have a few books I'll try to sell to Ed McKay's. Reshuffled a few more things to make more shelf room (and plan to donate my bigger old stuffed animals somewhere but I'm not sure, going to see if Sarah wants any for her baby) and had to come up with some creative bookends in the process. Also gave me room to move a lot of plushies off my bed for the summer since it's too hot with most of them on. Will tackle my desk soon, the main reason it's messy if because my tape keeps failing and it's the only place in my room I can safely lay out all the prints.
Not much else to say, the job hunt resumes again tomorrow and I'm worried since the high school seniors have graduated by now and they'll be flooding the shops soon as well. Hopefully what little experience I have (and being over 18 in some of those cases) will help me out, fingers and toes still crossed. Need to work on the comic tomorrow as well, shader hasn't done a re-read again but I need to figure out how many pages I'll get out of that chapter anyway (I thought at first it would be the 30 I needed, maybe a little less, but now it seems like 15-20 is more likely). Signing off!
