(Would you guys believe it's possible to cut your hand on a Mac? Because trust me it is, sharp little buggers). But before my self inflicted injuries I developed my first roll of film today~ I had developed pinhole photos before but that is a bit different (simpler and in pinhole photography you have sheets for your film instead of rolls of film that pretty much every other camera uses). And even though there are a number of steps to go through I think I did alright for my film. Thankfully you only need to be in the dark for the first part while everyone loads the rolls of film onto the spirals that hold them in the funnels for developing (the funnels are light tight so you can turn on the lights after wards, again a big change for pinhole development where you can only have the safe lights on). Took me a long while to develop the film (like, 12 minutes in the developer! All the other steps are 1 to 5 minutes long and no one else's film took this long) but when I came back after it dried I could see that some photos did turn out. Not nearly as many as everyone elses, BUT, since I think I overshot some of the photos (in fact, I think I found a photo of Sam on there, going to try and enlarge that one if I can) and the back had been opened which exposed those photos I think I turned out well. Plus some of the ones I wanted to print seemed to be safe so hopefully it's all good. Plus, from what I could see, my shots looked pretty good which is unusal for me, usually I have to take a ton of shots to get a few I like. Although it's too soon to tell since we don't make prints until next Monday, but this inital sucess makes me want to shoot more pictures.
When it's not blowing/snowing anyway. The weather was really wonky today, I was hot and cold, dry and snowed upon, typical Boone winters? Also got a package from my mom today, got my hair towel, some cookies (I'll admit, I was more delighted to see that there was bubble wrap around them so I could celebrate bubble wrap appreciation day), and some homemade brownie-like squares. Yummy all around and I'll have to search for my computer start up disc when I get home, my mom hasn't found it and I would really like to know where that went.
Not much else to say, no JCC again (starting to wonder if stuff went down over break...) and I didn't go to knitting club since I had nothing to work on (I really want to get some better sized needles before I start knitting the legwarmers and I think I can make a trip out to the knitting store later in the week, provided I find it). So now I'm contemplating making popcorn and and then teetering off to bed. Signing off!
