It's always so strange to come home and have to be a Muggle again. It's so much calmer here. No gingerbread men running around. Not that I really mind, since Christmas is a lot of fun, even if my family doesn't celebrate it too much! And it's kind of nice to just relax and not think about magic for awhile, though... it's also strange to think of ( Read more... )

Well it's nice to have a break from the weird stuff that happens at school all the time. Though it is kind of hard sometimes to keep all the stuff about magic a secret from people.

Yes, I guess that's part of the reason why we aren't allowed to use magic at home until we're old enough. But it's so awkward when they ask about how my year at school went!

No kidding, it gets harder and harder every year to make stuff up that doesn't sound suspicious. Not that some of my muggle friends would believe me anyway.

They'd just think we'd gone crazy if we told them the truth. It's too bad.

By the way, how are things going with your guest?

Kind of makes the whole rule about keeping it secret silly, but better safe than sorry I guess.

Well nothing's gone wrong yet, it's mostly been what I expected.

Yes, I agree. Though I'm not sure that everyone is more safe with things as secret as they are.

Really? What did you expect?

You mean you'd think muggles would be better off knowing about wizards?

My mum to squeal about how cute it all is and nearly crush the pair of us with her hugs. It's still embarassing beyond belief though.

Maybe. Of course, it would be difficult, but if we could all get along then it would be better for everyone.

Your mum sounds like fun! You shouldn't be embarrassed, Yuuri. It's good that she's happy for you, right?

Yeah, I really don't see why we all couldn't just co-exist if we tried.

She's loopy, always trying to me call her 'Mama' for some reason. Seems like she took the news too well and now wants to plan out my entire romantic future.

I guess people are just scared of trying.

Oh, really? Is she planning your wedding yet?

It just seems like it's all being held back because some people just get scared of what they don't understand. [Knows since he was like that himself when he started attending Hogwarts.]

I wouldn't be surprised if she was, doesn't seem to matter to her that this is so far the only relationship I've had.

Yes, and I'm sure there'd be trouble if things weren't secret anymore, but still... I feel like it would be worth it in the end.

She's just happy for you! I think that's sweet. Isn't it a lot better than disapproval?

It would, it's a pity some people can only see what's different about us instead of what's the same a lot of the time.

I still say she's going overboard a bit. Still I guess you're right, it's way better than her and dad being upset over it.

At least your Christmas looks like it'll be peaceful.

I'm really glad you agree! Some people are so weird about the whole blood thing. I don't understand it.

Yes, our Christmases usually aren't that big a deal. I just get a chance to see all my friends and home and practice with people! But I'd like something more exciting, actually.

Neither do I, having magic doesn't change who you are as a person, so why should it matter?

Well it sounds good, simple and comfortable. My mum manages to turn the whole thing on it's head every year. And dealing with Wolfram too is making things pretty hectic.

It shouldn't. Maybe someday things will be different.

Sure, it's hectic, but isn't it fun too? Just think of all the great memories you're making. And I'm sure it must be kind of romantic too, spending Christmas with the one you love.
