[nostalgia] grey's anatomy | "he goes left and you stay right..."
I've recently had the pleasure of two total fandom strangers discovering all my old Grey's Anatomy fanfics on AO3 and going pretty gloriously bananas over them. This unexpected reminder of The Good Old Days has made me incredibly nostalgic for those heady post-season-six-finale glory months where fandom was positively BUZZING with fics and art and ficathons that spawned literally hundreds of stories at a time and I know, I know, I knowwww those days are long gone, but I can't help but miss it (and the people involved at the time) with the power of a thousand burning suns.
I remember a time where I couldn't go a whole day at work without sneakily writing emails to myself that were actually just paragraph after paragraph of Grey's Anatomy fic. It was nothing for me to write 3000 words in a day.
Now I can barely manage 300 in a month.
There's not really any point to this post, except to say that those few years are some that I'll always, always treasure. For even as Shonda Rhimes was RIPPING MY HEART TO TEENY TINY SHREDS, she was also delivering me some of my very most favourite people, fictional and real, in the whole, wide world!!
