I try not to read the opinion stuff. The meta. The passing comments. The uninformed drivel.

Hopefully not my posts and comments...*hides*

I definitely do care about the characters and I care in ways that are completely illogical, because I know these people are non-existent and the actors are only simulating all their suffering. But I still get carried away. While watching 'Ozymandias' and 'Granite State' I never looked away from the screen but I was whimpering and welling up through both entire episodes. But I ultimately care more about the story and I wouldn't change the story even while it's breaking my heart. And yes, I have made posts about how I want the show to end (I was doing Breaking Bad Q&A on Tumblr yesterday) based on my own hopes for each of the characters but I also agree that I want what Vince gives me. My own hopes may not be what is best for the show and I trust the experts. That's what makes BrBa a much better obsession than Lost for me since there came a point in Lost when I stopped trusting the writers and only cared about the characters and simply resented the Lost writers for what they were doing to those characters. I've never felt that way with BrBa.

BTW, I freaking love that little moment when Jonathan calls Aaron 'sweet pea' on the audio commentary! And of course whenever J Banks talks about punching people in the heart.

Hopefully not my posts and comments...*hides* Oh, god no. Your posts have been beacons! Haha! I'm totally talking about the tumblr stuff like, "Skyler is a bitch and deserves to be shot in the head."

You know the stuff I mean!

Though, when it comes to helping form my epiphany, your posts on tumblr (I saw those QAs) were definitely helpful because, how do I put this? Um, I trust you? I trust your opinions and your thoughts and your analyses? And that they were/are SO DIFFERENT (on paper) to mine, when our degree of love for the show itself is so freaking similar, is what got me thinking in the first place. DOES THIS MAKE SENSE?

I definitely do care about the characters and I care in ways that are completely illogical, This is me and every other show I've ever watched!! Haha! So yeah, I definitely hear you on this!! And completely understand. My struggle with this has ~always been more that I couldn't understand my OWN perspective. Your perspective and the perspective of most of the other people I know that love this show and are heavily invested in the individual characters has always made total sense to me! I've always felt like I was wrong. Now I understand that I was just different! Haha!

I freaking love that little moment when Jonathan calls Aaron 'sweet pea' on the audio commentary! I swear to god, this freaking cast and its perfect perfection!!!

Yes, it makes sense. And honestly I think your perspective is less weird than mine because you aren't losing sight of the fact that you are watching a story. Which is what I do when I start irrationally caring about the characters. Like the other day I found myself researching what forms of care & therapy services there are for victims of torture and hostage ordeals. Because, like, I need to know these things to make myself feel better when I'm hoping Jesse still survives. And like whyyyy do I even care?? Even if Jesse survives the last episode he still ceases to exist the moment the credits role. But I have to remind myself of this. That's what's wrong with me.

Enjoy the last episode! We must have a group hug / BrBa addicts support group post on the LJ comm sometime tomorrow.
