It's MLK day

Update time! Hope everyone had a good first week of classes! Mine was okay. I've been really depressed this week. I miss home (I know I'll get over it, but I've always had a problem with the end-of-break/back-to-IU transition thing) . I don't really like any of my classes-- some are too boring or just too strange. My acting class isn't quite what I thought it'd be. The instructor is a really young guy (looks like a 16 year with that weird patchy facial hair). He just says things out of the book we're reading (title's something lame like "Finding the Actor in You") and tries to make them sound deep. "To act is to do. Acting...is doing." And everyone in the class is nodding their heads like it's some profound truth. I don't buy it.
I do like my anatomy class however which surprised me because I'm not a sciencey gal. The professor is a partially deaf woman with seven cats. She seems really neat. And I like the way she dresses. That's right-- i trust stylish people more than unstylish (i.e. my acting instructor wears ill-fitting sweatpants).
Here's a good story for you guys. On Friday evening Manda calls me to see if I want to go bowling. Of course, that's a big yes. I had just assumed we'd be bowling with some of our mutual friends, but that wasn't the case. We were meeting her boyfriend Deante and "some of his friends". Weird for me, because I had only briefly met Deante. We got to the alley and it turns out "some of his friends" meant Deante's roommate Gavin. It felt like some type of awkward, forced double date scenario. Manda kept apologizing and said she didn't plan for it to be like this. She bought me a milkshake so I forgave her. It was actually a fun time, except I don't think I really care for her boyfriend. He got so mad because he wasn't bowling well. Who gets super-competitive over awkward, bowling double-dates anyway?
Yeah, I'm tired of writing now. Stay cool kids. Update more... because I like to read them.
