As I mentioned I made it into the campground pretty late. The idea was to do Venice over two days, but as I'll explain later that didn't quite happen. We made it into Venice a little before noon and then immediatly got lost. Venice had a sense of glory long gone to it. All the paint was just a little two faded, and everything just a little bit to touristy for taste. Their were some interesting highlights to the trip. San Marcos square was just gorgeous with what seemed like a million pigeons everywere. The basicalla itself was pretty neat, but Doggos palace was just spectacular. It was also interetsting just seeing how Venetians lived. No cars or bikes are allowed in Venice so everything has to be brought in or out by boat and then hand trucked. We even saw a UPS boat. I could have stayed one day more just to wonder around and explore the less toursity parts in the south, but Johnny had enough. We therefore went back to the campsite, checked out the next day, and I am now writing this from the Army base in Vicenza.
